When viewed from the tip, the Z2 fin has both ends curved downwards.
And at the top there is a protrusion called a fluid separator.
The fin's downward trajectory and fluid separator make it easy to kick downwards.

These two features allow excess water to flow off the top of the blade, resulting in less resistance and a faster downward kick.

If you look at the underside of the Z2 fin you will see two grooves on the outside.
These spiral groove converters allow the fin to move differently on the up and down kicks. These grooves allow the fin blade to bend more easily on the down kick and create more resistance on the up kick. The curved edges, fluid separators, grooves and holes in the blade all eliminate the lag between the movement of your foot and the movement of the tip of the fin.
