Para swimming - Practice menu -

November 22, 2023
Share

Hello.

It's gotten really cold all of a sudden. Your body will get cold too, so it's important to take good care of your health.

There are also many winter competitions. Let's practice hard and get a good time in the races for the spring JO !!

Continuing from last time, this is about para swimming.

Through a fortunate opportunity, I was able to connect with a para swimmer.

Mizukami uses the following products from our company!

Stroke makers from 0 to 2 are used!

In addition, Mizukami is paralyzed on the right side of his body, so the stroke maker on his right hand is fixed in place with lots of rubber bands to prevent it from moving.

They also use extra soft fins.

We would like to share a little bit of Mizukami's training menu with you.

The basic training menu for able-bodied people is

Up → Kick → Pull → Swim ( main ) → Down

I think this is a common structure. First create a swimming pattern and then move on to the main part.

↓This is Mizukami's menu.

Many of the exercises involve using equipment, and you'll then get a feel for it before moving on to the main practice.

Even able-bodied swimmers use equipment to get a feel for it, but para-athletes need more equipment and are more conscious of their senses and swimming style. Swimming style also differs depending on the disability, but the first priority is to learn to use equipment to stabilize the swim.

He said that by swimming with fins and a stroke maker, you can stabilize yourself and learn to swim, and then you can gradually remove the strain and get into a good state.

The stroke maker swims numbers 2 through 0 using the same routine to bring the feeling closer to swimming.

I think there are few able-bodied players who use all of the stroke makers.

You can see that the difference is also in the tools.

He also said that there are times when he is not allowed to use equipment at the competition venue, so he practices without equipment about twice a week to improve his times.

Using equipment in competitions is sometimes difficult because it is considered dangerous, so even able-bodied athletes are able to practice race pace without equipment, and from talking to various schools and swimming schools I find that many coaches are thinking about this.

Not many people get involved with para swimming and I think there are many people who don't know about it, so I'll be introducing it little by little on my blog!

Please take a look again as they are swimming wearing our products.

Mizukami is paralyzed on the right side of his body, so I can see that he cannot move his right leg very well, but he balances his body very well, which I think is amazing.

He uses either the extra soft type or the soft type depending on the type of training he is doing!!

There are many different ways to look at para swimming.

Take a look and see how they swim.
