About Peanut Paddle
Share
Hello.
With the off-season over, practice is likely to slowly resume.
Let's refresh ourselves and continue training for the coming winter season!
The Asian Swimming Championships have also come to an end.
Let's be inspired by the Japanese national team players and work hard in practice!
As I mentioned before, I have recently decided to start a YouTube channel.

We will be providing videos explaining how to use the products, so please check them out.
This time it's about the Peanut Paddle.
You may not have heard of it, but I'm sure many of you have seen it.
This is a tool that has been around for a long time, so I think current coaches are familiar with it.
The product is as follows.
I'm sure many of you have seen it.
Wearing all the equipment normally called a "paddle" will make it easier to move forward and allow you to catch more water.
However, the peanut paddle makes it harder to capture water.
As you can see from the shape of the paddle, it is boat-shaped, so it is designed to allow water to escape.
So when you wear it, imagine catching the water with your entire arm.
And when you take it off you will develop a better sense of catching the water.
At the trial swim, many swimmers who used it for the first time said things like, "It's a strange feeling," so if you're interested, we encourage you to give it a try.
Now, how to use the product.
First of all, the sizes are S , M , and L.
How to choose, choose between the first and second joints of your middle finger. If it is too big, you will learn to pull it from your elbow when you move in the water.
It can be used by people of all ages, but it is best to start using it from elementary school age.
Please refer to the sizes below.
<Size>
S ( Blue) = Total length 13 cm (From the wrist to the first and second joints of the middle finger, for juniors.)
M (Red) = Total length 15cm
L (green) = total length 17cm
The method of wearing is the same as that of a normal paddle.
Use it by putting your hand through the rubber band. Do not grip it.
It can be used in four different sports, so please give it a try and develop your sense of catching water!
The usage is as follows, but please try your own way of using it.
Crawl: Place your pinky finger on your ring finger and your thumb on the edge of the paddle.
Backstroke & Butterfly: Place your thumb firmly against your index finger and your pinky finger lightly touching it.
Breaststroke: No gripping
The design (boat-shaped) allows the water to flow away when worn, so depending on the angle of your hand or arm, the water may flow to the left or right. This will be clearly noticeable and you can make corrections.
When you release the hook, you no longer feel like you are cutting through the water, so you feel a greater sense of catch than usual and you can also get a feel for what it feels like to "catch water."
This will change your stroke into a more balanced one!
Try swimming with the peanut paddle on, then taking it off and swimming again.
Your stroke will naturally change and you will be able to catch the water.
There are very few people who can capture water every day.
Sometimes you can't even feel the water and it's hard to feel it.
By wearing a Peanut paddle and getting a feel for catching the water, you will feel better and be able to perform at your best.
It is a little heavy, so once you enter the water your hands naturally go to the stroke position.
If you start your stroke too high, you won't catch any water.
By starting a little lower you will be able to carry the water further back and improve your time.
The Peanut Paddle can help you establish that position!
Use the Peanut Paddle to improve your strokes!
