What is a Grudge Belt and how to use it?
Share
Hello.
The Inter-High and Junior High School Championships are over.
Also, the summer JO has ended, so things may be calming down a bit.
The Intercollegiate Championships for university students have ended, and the National Sports Festival will be the last event of the season.
Let's not give up until the end and end the summer season with a smile.
For players who are now in the off-season, let's build a solid foundation and carry it over into the next season!
As I mentioned before, I have recently decided to start a YouTube channel.
Channel link: https://www.youtube.com/@SOLTEC-SWIM
We will be providing videos explaining how to use the products, so please check them out.
This time it's about the Grudge Belt.
I guess a lot of people don't know what the Grudge Belt is.
The product is as follows.
This product involves two people pulling a strong tube in opposite directions.
A well-known practice tool that involves being pulled along by a tube is
The short belt I introduced last time
(Link: https://soltecswim.com/blogs/news/shortbelt-belt-slider-soltec-nz )
I think it is a long belt with a tube that can be expanded or contracted up to 25 meters in length.
Both are tools for one-person resistance training.
However, the Grudge Belt is a product that allows people to work in pairs and do resistance training with each other.
The usage is as follows:
This training involves starting in the middle of the pool and pulling in opposite directions.
Since they are both pulling on each other, it is clear which one is stronger or has more power.
★How to practice★
They get ready back to back in the middle (around 12.5 meters in a 25 meter pool).
Ready, set, go, and we'll all head towards the wall at the same time and do our best.
Example: 20 seconds of tug-of-war, 15 seconds of rest
When using the Grudge Belt for training, make sure to do the same exercises.
For example, if you compete using butterfly and breaststroke, the breaststroke swimmer will definitely lose.
VS
Both events involve strokes using both hands, but when comparing average times, breaststroke is overwhelmingly slower and the kicking method is also different.
In breaststroke, the kick is almost stationary during the leg bending motion, but in butterfly, the dolphin kick is delivered consistently so there is progress.
If they are competing in the same sport, they will be able to see the differences in the speed of their pitch, the strength of their kick, and the amount of water they are paddling.
You can also see which parts of your body are pulling back and which parts are allowing you to move forward.
The coaches watching from poolside will also be able to see it visibly, and the athletes will also be able to gain a better understanding of how they can progress when viewed from above.
In addition to swimming, you can also just kick or pull on a pull buoy.
Paralympic athletes with physical disabilities can compete against able-bodied athletes in kicking or pulling only, and can receive the same training.
Like the short and long belt exercises, it is a form of resistance training, but it can also be a fun exercise.
Since it can be played in pairs, tournaments and team battles are also possible.
It's natural that practice is hard, but why not try to make it a little fun to practice even when it's hard or difficult?
This will naturally increase communication and lead to a more active team!
Please refer to the following video on YouTube!
Each tool has its own purpose, so make sure to use them properly and find ways to become faster.
We will also be uploading videos on YouTube from time to time, so please check them out.
I think that many players have finished their summer season, but please try to use your training equipment in an innovative way so that you can perform better than in the winter season.
We also offer trial swims, so please feel free to contact us with any enquiries.
