How to use the short belt
Share
Hello.
The Obon holidays are over, and so are the Inter-High School Championships and the National Junior High School Championships.
Summer JO has begun! For elementary school students, this is the culmination of this season.
Let's not give up until the end and end the summer season with a smile.
As I mentioned before, I have recently decided to start a YouTube channel.

We will be providing videos explaining how to use the products, so please check them out.
This time it's about short belts.
When you hear the term "short belt," you may not know what kind of product it is, but think of it as a much shorter version of a long belt.
To briefly explain the product, the short belt is worn around the waist and is a tool that you use to swim while being pulled along.
The product is as follows.
The tube is approximately 1.2m long, but can be extended up to 5m in length.
Because it is short in length, it is possible to practice not only in a 25m pool but also in a small pool or other limited space.
It is shorter than a long belt, so think of it as being for resistance training!!
Resistance training is swimming against the forces of resistance or opposition.
It may be difficult to understand in words, so I will explain with pictures.
Tie it to the diving board as shown below and swim towards the turn side.
(The color of the tube is different in the photo.)
Because the tube is too short, it will never reach the goal 25 meters away.
But it's going to be a lot of power training.
You will be swimming while being pulled by a tube.
Your body is being pulled backwards, but you are trying to move forward in the opposite direction, so it puts a lot of strain on your body.
It also ties into sprint training.
If you let up even a little, you'll be back to the start. If you don't maintain a constant speed in addition to working hard and going full speed forward, there's no point in practicing.
It is also effective for practicing increasing the tempo of your strokes.
It may be difficult to notice during swim practice, but if your breathing time becomes longer, your speed will decrease and you will be forced to return to the start, so you will clearly see the parts of your body that you are decelerating, which you don't normally notice.
All things considered, try practicing with a short belt!
★Practice method
Decide the number of seconds and do a hard (dash).
For example: 30 seconds hard, 15 seconds rest, 5 sets.
In this exercise, you have to work hard for 30 seconds and maintain a constant fast speed. Imagine 50 meters for 30 seconds.
Even long distance runners need speed.
If you practice using tools like this, you will become stronger if you put in the effort.
Because the belt is wrapped around the waist, you can use fins and paddles in any event.
It is also possible to just kick.
Please refer to the video and practice!
Each tool has its own purpose, so make sure to use them properly and find ways to become faster.
We will also be uploading videos on YouTube from time to time, so please check them out.
With the summer and winter seasons drawing to a close, try using your training equipment in a creative way to help you perform better♪
We also offer trial swims, so please feel free to contact us with any enquiries.
